Every month we select a Seniors for Seniors’s Senior Companion who goes above and beyond their job description to make sure that our clients feel valued and cared for. Our August Employee of the Month is Brian Armstrong!
We asked Brian about his experience working at Seniors for Seniors and this is what he had to say:
1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?
I heard about Seniors for Seniors from a personal friend. Someone she knew had used the service and was impressed. I decided I wanted to join the company after hearing about her experience.
2. What is your favorite companion/caregiver experience or story?
I have had many really cool experiences. I especially enjoy shopping with a lady in Welland. The partial shopping list is: 2 nectarines, 4 asparagus, 4 slices of ham and 1 can of Ginger Ale. She asked me how to know if the nectarines are good and I responded, "as long as there are no bruises or teeth marks we are good to go!"
3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?
I love meeting new people and listening to their stories. Everyone has an amazing journey and they tell their stories with pride.
4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors' Senior Companion enriched your life?
Helping people is the reward. I get a very good feeling after someone, who might be having a horrible day, looks right at me and smiles and says "thank you." What a truly wonderful feeling that is!
