Our caregivers feel honoured knowing that the support they provide makes a significant difference to many clients and their families. Vernon, who has worked for Seniors for Seniors as a driver companion and a handy person since August 2015, says providing care to his clients has enriched his life more than he ever anticipated.
Upon deciding to take early retirement, Vernon went looking for a part time position that would keep him engaged in the community and allow him to interact with people. He remembered hearing a radio advertisement for Seniors for Seniors which inspired him to contact his local office. After speaking with the manager about the different types of services that he could be involved in, Vernon knew the role as driver companion and handy person would fit his skills and suit his needs.
Over the past year while working for Seniors for Seniors, Vernon has had a lot of great experiences and had the pleasure of helping many wonderful clients. “All of my clients express their gratitude,” said Vernon, “I have noticed that they value their independence and appreciate having access to a service that allows them to keep it with dignity.” Vernon always knew he could be of help but since he started working for Seniors for Seniors he realized that his support is making a significant difference for a lot of people.

I have always been so impressed by the passion and commitment of our employees. From the companions that I work with everyday in Simcoe-Muskoka, to those who looked after my Aunt in Toronto, each and every one has provided outstanding care to their clients.
