Seniors for Seniors’ Senior Companions are the cornerstone of our company; they are the ones who provide frontline services to our valued clients.

Each month we will be spotlighting a Senior Companion who goes above and beyond their job description to make sure that our clients feel special and cared for. Our Employee of the Month for March is Marion S.

Marion has been with Seniors for Seniors since 2013 as a Driver Companion. What makes Marion so special is his positivity and humour. Our clients have said that he is dependable, trustworthy and goes that extra mile. In fact, many of our clients call and request that Marion be their driver because of the positive experiences they have with him. We know we can always count on Marion to deliver exceptional service to our clients!

We recently asked Marion about his experience working at Seniors for Seniors. Here is what he had to say:

1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?

I started working for Seniors for Seniors when I retired from my full-time career in December of 2013. My wife was already working for Seniors for Seniors by the time I decided to join the company.

2. What is your favorite companion/caregiver experience or story?

I once was a Driver Companion to a client who had regular eye appointments in Toronto. On our first trip together she mentioned that her mood might be different when I pick her up from her appointment as her procedure involved needles being inserted into her eye. Knowing this, I made sure to use my humor on the car ride back to help put her in a better mood.

3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?

They get "ME." I try to bring humour to all of my clients' trips. I believe that humour can quickly turn any situation into a more positive one.

4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors Companion enriched your life?

Driving clients to hospitals and clinics has really opened up my eyes to the importance of health. It has made me realize that I need to eat properly and try to stay healthy for as long as possible.

Thank you Marion for sharing your experience working as a Senior Companion. Congratulations on being our March Employee of the Month!
