Cancer, a disease that occurs when changes in a group of normal cells lead to uncontrolled, abnormal growth, is the second-leading cause of death in the world. Globally, the number one killer is cardiovascular disease.
17 people die every minute from cancer. While there are different factors that can cause cancer, approximately one third of cancer can be prevented by reducing behavioural and dietary risks. Modifiable risk factors include limiting alcohol consumption, staying at a healthy weight, eating healthy and nutritious foods, doing regular physical activity, avoiding unprotected radiation and work place hazards. To find out more information about cancer risk factors, go to World Cancer Day’s page.
Today on World Cancer Day, we unite in our fight against this global epidemic. Together we can work to reduce cancer risk factors and improve diagnosis, treatment and palliative care. Together we show our support of #WorldCancerDay.
These caregivers are fine people. In addition to obvious competence, they consistently manifest compassion, dedication, patience and affectionate regard for my Aunt. When asked, I do not hesitate to recommend Seniors For Seniors.
